Tanet (ang. Thanetian)
- w sensie geochronologicznym – trzeci, najmłodszy, wiek paleocenu (era kenozoiczna), trwający około 3 miliony lat (od 58,7 ± 0,2 do 55,8 ± 0,2 mln lat temu). Tanet jest młodszy od zelandu a starszy od iprezu (eocen).
- w sensie chronostratygraficznym – najwyższe piętro paleocenu, wyższe od zelandu a niższe od iprezu. Stratotyp dolnej granicy zelandu nie jest jeszcze ustalony.
Nazwa piętra (wieku) pochodzi od wyspy Thanet (Kent, Wielka Brytania).
