Systematyka
Etymologia
- Teretrurus: gr. τερετρον teretron „świder”; ουρα oura „ogon”.
- Brachyophidium: gr. βραχυς brakhus „krótki”; οφιδιον ophidion „mały wąż”, zdrobnienie od οφις ophis, οφεως opheōs „wąż”. Gatunek typowy: Brachyophidium rhodogaster Wall, 1921.
