Systematyka
Etymologia
- Madatyphlops: nowołac. madagascariensis „madagaskarski”; gr. τυφλωψ tuphlōps, τυφλωπος tuphlōpos „ślepy wąż”.
- Lemuriatyphlops: Lemuria, hipotetyczny zatopiony kontynent na Oceanie Indyjskim; gr. τυφλωψ tuphlōps, τυφλωπος tuphlōpos „ślepy wąż”. Gatunek typowy: Typhlops microcephalus Werner, 1909.
