Systematyka

Rodzaj zdefiniował w 1862 roku amerykański zoolog Harrison Allen w artykule poświęconym nietoperzom z rodziny mroczkowatych, opublikowanym na łamach Proceedings of the Academy of Natural Sciences of Philadelphia. Na gatunek typowy Allen wyznaczył (oznaczenie monotypowe) jasnotka amerykańskiego (A. pallidus).

Etymologia

Antrozous: gr. αντρον antron ‘jaskinia, grota’; ζωον zōon ‘zwierzę’.

Podział systematyczny

Do rodzaju należy jeden występujący współcześnie gatunek:

  • Antrozous pallidus (Le Conte, 1856) – jasnotek amerykański

Opisano również wymarły gatunek z pliocenu dzisiejszych Stanów Zjednoczonych:

  • Antrozous wheeleri (Dalquest & Patrick, 1989)
