Etymologia
- Conolophus: gr. κωνος kōnos „stożek”; λοφος lophos „grzebień, czubek”.
- Trachycephalus: gr. τραχυς trakhus „chropowaty, szorstki”; -κεφαλος -kephalos „-głowy”, od κεφαλη kephalē „głowa”. Typ nomenklatoryczny: Amblyrhynchus subcristatus Gray, 1831.
