Bothriechis – rodzaj jadowitych węży z podrodziny grzechotników (Crotalinae) w rodzinie żmijowatych (Viperidae).
Zasięg występowania
Rodzaj obejmuje gatunki występujące w Ameryce (Meksyk, Belize, Gwatemala, Honduras, Nikaragua, Kostaryka, Panama, Kolumbia, Wenezuela, Ekwador i Peru).
Systematyka
Etymologia
- Bothriechis: gr. βοθριον bothrion „rowek”, zdrobnienie od βοθρος bothros „rów, jama”; εχις ekhis, εχεως ekheōs „żmija”.
- Teleuraspis: gr. τελεος teleos „doskonały”; ουρα oura „ogon”; ασπις aspis „żmija”. Gatunek typowy: Trigonocephalus schlegeli Berthold, 1846.
- Thamnocenchris: gr. θαμνος thamnos „krzak, krzew”; κεγχρις kenkhris, κεγχριδος kenkhridos „wąż mający na grzbiecie wypukłości podobne do prosa”. Gatunek typowy: Thamnocenchris aurifer Salvin, 1860.
