Etymologia

  • Desmodactylus: gr. δεσμος desmos „więź”; δακτυλος daktulos „palec”. Gatunek typowy: Desmodactylus pinchonii David, 1872.
  • Batrachuperus (Batrachyperus): gr. βατραχος batrakhos – żaba; υπςρώα ypsroa „podniebienie”.
  • Tibetuperus: Tybet; końcówka uperus z nazwy Batrachuperus Boulenger, 1878. Gatunek typowy: Batrachuperus yenyuanensis Liu, 1950.
