Etymology

Via some European language, ultimately from Latin physiologia, from Ancient Greek φυσιολογία (phusiología, “natural philosophy”), from φύσις (phúsis, “nature”) and λόγος (lógos, “word, treatise”) with the suffix -ία (-ía) (Latvian -ija).
