라니 • (-rani)

Alternative form of 다니 (-dani), used in the environments where 라 (-ra) is required. In particular, always used after the stem of 이다 (-ida, “to be”, copula), whether present or elided, and its negative 아니다 (anida, “to not be”).
스폰지가 동물 이라니. ― Seuponji-ga dongmur-i-ra-ni. ― How can a sponge be an animal?

우리나라 가 일본 보다 큰 게 아니라니. ― Urinara-ga Ilbon-boda keun ge ani-ra-ni. ― Wow, Korea isn't bigger than Japan.
