Etymology

알라 (Alla, “Allah”) +‎ 신(神) (sin, “god”), literally “the god Allah”, out of the misconception that Muslims worship a specific god named Allah when in reality اللّٰه‎ (allāh) is simply the Arabic word for any monotheistic God.
