Etymology

Attested in Records of Baiyue (《越絕書》):

治須慮者,越人謂船爲須慮。 [Classical Chinese, trad.]
治须虑者,越人谓船为须虑。 [Classical Chinese, simp.]
Zhì xūlǜ zhě, yuèrén wèi chuán wèi xūlǜ. [Pinyin]
It is spoken ‘to renovate the sorases’, since Baiyue people refer to boats as soras.

Possibly from some descendants of Proto-Tai *C̬.rwɯəᴬ. See Thai เรือ (rʉʉa) for more cognates.
