From Aramaic ⁧שְׁבַעֵסְרֶא⁩ (šəḇaʿesrē). Equivalent to ⁧ܫܒ݂ܲܥ⁩ (šḇaʿ, “seven”) +‎ ⁧ܥܸܣܲܪ⁩ (ʿisar, “ten”); compare Arabic ⁧سَبْعَ عَشْرَةَ⁩ (sabʕa ʕašrata) and Hebrew ⁧שְׁבַע עֶשְׂרֵה⁩ (sh'vá 'esré).
