2. (transitive) to repay, pay back, reimburse, recompense

   ܐܵܢܵܐ ܡܫܘܼܠܸܡ ܠܝܼ ܚܘܼܫܒܵܢܵܐ. ― ānā mšūlim lī ḥušbānā. ― I settled the account.

   ܡܘܼܫܠܸܡ ܠܹܗ ܠܸܘܝܹܗ ܠܫܘܼܪܛܵܐ. ― mušlim lēh liwyēh l-šurṭā. ― He handed his colleague over to the police.

   ܥܪܝܼܩ ܠܵܗ̇ ܩܵܐ ܕܡܲܫܠܡܵܐ ܠܹܗ. ― ˁrīq lāh qā d-mašlmā lēh. ― She ran away in order for her to betray him.

2. (transitive) to persuade

   ܫܲܒ݂ܪܵܐ ܡܘܼܫܠܸܡ ܠܹܗ ܠܐܲܒ݂ܘܼܗܝ ܘܡܣܘܼܙܓܸܪ ܠܹܗ. ― šaḇrā mušlim lēh l-aḇūh w-msuzgir lēh. ― The child persuaded his father and he agreed.
