Northern Namibia is the northernmost region of Namibia. Under the South African occupation it was known as Ovamboland. The area is now divided into various administrative sub-regions and - although mainly rural - the most densely populated region of the country. Northern Namibia is also home to the Ovambos, the largest ethnic group in Namibia.
