Foot-Bow (3.5e Equipment)

The foot bow is a large composite bow with a much greater pull strength and is fired in an unconventional way. It has two 'stirrups' either side of the arrow shelf and as such, it is fired from a lying position. This means that the bow is much easier to pull and has increased range.

The foot-bow can only be used on a flat surface (i.e. not on stairs or a mount) and the firer can only move 5ft as a full round action without unequipping which provokes an attack of opportunity.

Whilst it is in use, the firer counts as being prone for all checks and rolls. It takes a full round action to ready or unready the Foot-Bow this includes standing and lying times and provokes attacks of opportunity. The feat 'quick draw' reduces these to standard move actions.

All Foot-bows, much as composite bows, are built with a particular strength rating defaulting at +0 and costing an additional 100 gp for each +1. As the Foot-Bow is fired using four limbs, the strength bonus to damage is double that of the normal composite bow.

For any other rules that I have missed, assume they are the same as the composite bow.
